Our youth horsemanship program offers one-on-one lessons that blend safety, hands-on learning, and foundational riding skills in a supportive environment. Each session is tailored to your child’s age, comfort level, and goals so they can progress naturally and joyfully.
Your child will learn:
Lessons build on one another and move at the child’s pace, ensuring they feel safe, capable, and proud of what they’re learning. Each session ends with a simple review activity to reinforce skills in a fun and memorable way.

Youth lessons are available as one-on-one sessions only, giving us the ability to meet each child exactly where they are and support their individual learning style.

Children learn how to approach a horse calmly, understand body language, avoid danger zones, and use grooming tools properly. Grooming becomes a way to build trust and get to know their horse.
Students practice haltering, leading, stopping, backing, and navigating patterns around cones. These sessions help build confidence and communication before riding begins.
Once a child demonstrates comfort and competency on the ground, mounted lessons begin. Riders learn correct posture, rein handling, walk cues, halting, and steering. Fun confidence-building activities like touching toes or “airplane arms” help develop balance and comfort in the saddle.
Our youth program is guided by Kelly Noall, a lifelong equestrian with a heart for mentoring young riders. Kelly brings decades of experience in the hunter–jumper world across Ohio and Florida, as well as the calm, grounded presence of someone who truly understands horses and children.
After a fulfilling 15-year career in anesthesia, Kelly felt called to return to her first love, horses. Over the years, she has coached and mentored many young equestrians, helping them build confidence, responsibility, and genuine partnership with the animals they care for.
Kelly recently relocated to Serenbe with her husband, Brennan, and their golden retrievers, Finnley and Goose. You may see her around the neighborhood walking the dogs or at the dog park, always with a warm smile and an easy connection to the community.
At Soul Barn, Kelly offers lessons centered around:
Her biggest joy is watching a child’s confidence grow, on the ground, in the saddle, and in themselves.
Give your child time to grow their confidence and skills with a consistent lesson rhythm. Each session is a 1:1 youth horsemanship lesson with Kelly, tailored to your child’s age, comfort level, and goals.
